graduating students

With the health and safety of our students, faculty, staff, and community our highest priority, the University of West Georgia has developed alternative plans for Summer Commencement 2020. Recognizing that this event represents a significant achievement for each of our students and their loved ones, we plan to create a memorable experience that recognizes each graduate.

The Summer 2020 Commencement Celebration will be held via online livestream on Saturday, July 25th at 3:00PM (EST). Be sure to tune in to hear your name - or the name of your favorite graduating wolf - called!

For the virtual celebration, all graduating students are encouraged to submit a photo of themselves in their cap and gown or in UWG spirit wear. Submissions were due by July 15 at 11:59 p.m.

Virtual Event Registration

FAQ

The virtual event is an opportunity for UWG to celebrate the accomplishments of and confer degrees to the class of 2020 close to the originally planned date. It in no way limits or excludes a future in-person Commencement ceremony.

In light of restrictions on public gatherings, we are not able to set a date at this time. However, the university is fully committed to celebrating the Class of 2020 in person when it safe and practical to do so. The Class of 2020 will be updated as plans are developed.

Your diploma will be mailed to you. Diplomas are not issued during in-person Commencement ceremonies, either.

A digital version of the program will be available on this website in time for the July 25th virtual celebration.

Academic regalia is not required to participate in the Virtual Commencement Celebration.
