Jonathan James

Jonathan is a lifelong resident of the City of Tallapoosa, where he has served as a Council Member since January 2012. Elected at age 24, Jonathan quickly realized the need to complete his education and enrolled in the University of West Georgia to complete his B.B.A in Marketing (2015) and M.B.A. (2016). In July 2017, Jonathan returned to the University of West Georgia to work in the Office of the Registrar and in December 2018 transferred to the Department of Career Services as the Experiential Learning Specialist. In November 2021, Jonathan transitioned to the position of  Departmental IT Specialist where he oversees all of the career management systems within the department.

General Responsibilities

Lead, develop and deliver comprehensive student internship, career development and student employment services in support of students’ educational, career and personal growth. collaborate with faculty and staff to facilitate student learning by assisting students in securing appropriate mentoring, internship, shadowing, and work experiences to enhance overall academic experiences and learn skills essential to successful employment. Works cooperatively with the Employer Relations staff to identify and develop experiential learning and employment opportunities for students, work cooperatively with Career Development staff to provide internship search and resume appointments.
