Brittany Janowski, M.Ed., CCC-SLP

Brittany Janowski, M.Ed., CCC-SLP is a speech-language pathologist certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and licensed in the State of Georgia. As a UWG alum, she began her employment at UWG in 2015 as a clinical supervisor and transitioned to a full-time position in 2016. She has experience across the lifespan, including in hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics, inpatient rehabilitation, long term acute care, and early intervention. She also has experience in administration as a rehabilitation director for an interdisciplinary team of speech-language pathologists, physical therapists, and occupational therapists. 

 She assisted in establishing UWG's grant-funded Early Intervention Speech Clinic in Waco, GA and a free Communication Disorders Lab at the UWG Newnan campus that specializes in the evaluation and treatment of adult and geriatric populations. She is passionate about providing quality services to underserved populations across the lifespan and is currently working towards a clinical doctorate at Valdosta State University. Her research interests include the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning in Communication Sciences and Disorders, dysphagia, the impacts of socioeconomic disadvantage, mindfulness, and improving the quality of life of individuals with progressive diseases, including Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease, by focusing on the education of facility staff and caregivers.  Brittany is also a certified endoscopist and is trained on the use of Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES). 

On a more personal note, she loves spending time on her "mini farm" with her husband and two children.
