Dear UWG students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members,
The Presidential Search and Screen Committee (PSSC) conducted face-to-face interviews with nine candidates before the Thanksgiving holiday. The committee converged on three finalists and forwarded their names to the USG Chancellor for the next stage of interviews which will be conducted by the Board of Regents (BOR) Special Committee.
The UWG PSSC requested that the Board of Regents invite the finalist(s) to visit campus during the interval between the announcement of the name(s) of the finalist(s) and the final confirming vote by the BOR. The timing of this is such that given schedules and current responsibilities of the finalist(s), the finalist(s) campus visit may not take place until after commencement. The USG BOR has committed to bring the finalist(s) to campus and will make every effort to do so.
These actions conclude the initial charge given to the PSSC by Chancellor Wrigley. We are thankful for the involvement of our campus and community and grateful for the service of each of our committee members for the last three months.
Dr. Sharmistha Basu-Dutt, chair, and members of the UWG Presidential Search and Screen Committee
