Student Assistant

A Student Assistant (SA) is a part-time employee who is currently enrolled at University of West Georgia (UWG) with the primary goal of achieving a degree. A SA is considered a temporary employee and is not eligible for benefits. As with all UWG employees, SAs must complete new hire paperwork with Human Resources prior to beginning work. In general, SAs may not work more than 20 hours per week while classes are in session for fall and spring semesters. While the pay rates for Student Assistants across campus vary depending on the needs of the department and nature of the work assigned, the minimum wage for these positions is determined by the federal minimum wage pay rate, which is $7.25 effective 7/24/2009.
